CooperVision announced the national roll-out of Avaira Toric silicone hydrogel contact lenses for correction of astigmatism. This follows the initial U.S. roll-out in June, which the company says was limited due to high demand.
The Avaira Toric lens offers exceptional stability, vision and comfort due to its unique lens design, naturally wettable material and high water content, according to CooperVision.
The smooth, junctionless lens surface and optimization of the stabilizing lens ballast provide improved visual performance in a broad range of people — regardless of their type and degree of astigmatism, says a news release.
Avaira Toric lenses also feature CooperVision’s Aquaform Comfort Science technology, which creates a naturally wettable lens that retains much of its 46 percent water content during wear, to maximize all-day comfort.
Avaira Toric lenses correct up to -6.00 diopters (D) of myopia and up to -1.75 D of astigmatism. An expanded power range is planned for the future.
